How Often Should I Review My Estate Planning Documents?

There is no firm rule for how often a person should review his or her estate planning documents. As a general rule, any time there is a major life change (births, deaths, divorce, etc.), it makes sense to sit down and review your estate plan to make sure that it still accurately reflects your wishes. If no major life events or changes are occurring, it makes sense to review your estate plan at least every 3-5 years to make sure that the estate plan you originally established still best fits your needs.
